In Japan, carrying an approved emergency warning device (known as a Teishi Hyōjiban or 停止表示板) is required by law if you have to stop on an expressway. Because of this, these distinct, vintage safety items frequently come tucked inside imported 1980s, 90s, and early 2000s JDM cars.
